What is the tariff plan of Airtel?
₹148 plan:

With a validity period of 28 days, the ₹148 plan was earlier priced at ₹129. It comes with unlimited calling, 300 SMS per day and 2 GB data. Users also get access to Airtel XStream, Wynk and Hello Tunes as part of Airtel Thanks benefits.

₹248 plan:

With effect from tomorrow, Airtel has merged the two recharge plans of ₹169 and ₹199 to ₹248.

The new ₹248 plan gives you unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day and 1.5 GB of data every day. Besides this, you also get access to Airtel XStream Premium content, Wynk Music subscription, free Hello Tunes and anti-virus mobile protection.

₹298 plan:

Airtel is offering unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day and 2GB data everyday in this plan, which was earlier being sold for ₹249. In the 28-day validity period range, this is the costliest plan.

Airtel's 84 days 4G plan:

In the 84 days validity period category, Airtel has two plans -- ₹598 and ₹698.

The ₹598 plan comes with 1.5 GB data per day while the ₹698 plan offers 2 GB data per day. Both recharge plans give you unlimited calling and 100 sms per day.

The ₹598 plan was earlier priced at ₹448 while the ₹698 plan came for ₹499.
How do I know my tariff plan in Airtel?
There are basically three ways to check your Airtel data balance- MyAirtel app, on web and lastly through USSD method. To check your data plan using MyAirtel app, first download the app and login using your Airtel number and one time password. Tap on your account and you will see options like account data balance, your past recharges and other offers from Airtel.

To view your Airtel Plan on web, go to this link and login using your Airtel mobile number. You can see your balance and data related info under the Account Overview tab. Further recharge can be done from the browse packs section.

Last is the old USSD method in which you need to dial *121#. The USSD when run will show several options like my offers, talktime offers, data offers and more. Select the option my number option and it will show the balance and validity of your current plan.

Airtel has been going quite aggressively against rival telecom operators with interesting plans and benefits. The company has been coming up with lucrative long term plans as well as new validity plans at various prices. Now, the company has focused its attention towards the first recharge plans and has released a revamped set of recharge plans with new benefits in terms of data and calls. The new plans start from Rs 76 and go up to Rs 495 for the plan with most benefits.

To aid new customers in the Airtel network, the company has released a wide array of plans out of which the base pack comes in for Rs 76. Under this pack, consumers get a talk time of Rs 26 and data benefits of 100MB 2G/3G/4G data. The calls are charged at a rate of 60 paise per minute and validity is only offered for a period of 28 days.

If this isn't enough for customers, there's the second plan that costs Rs 176. Under this plan, customers get benefits unlimited local as well as STD calls and 100 SMSes per day. The plan also comes with data benefits of 1GB 3G/4G data and there's validity of 28 days.

The Rs 248 plan offers even more benefits than others. In terms of data, the plan offers 1.4GB data per day with a validity period of 28 days. The plan also offers unlimited local, STD and roaming calls along with 100SMSes per day. Then there's another plan that comes for Rs 495 that offers the same 1.4GB data per day along with unlimited free calls and messages. However, validity is increased to 84 days.

The new first recharge plans can be availed from the My Airtel app as well as the website and can only be availed once after a new connection has been purchased. Once the validity of these plans is exhausted, consumers will be required to go for conventional recharge plans.

In comparison, Reliance Jio doesn't offer first recharge plans and instead offers more benefits in terms of data to its consumers. The cheapest pack from Jio costs Rs 98 and offers up to 2GB of data with a validity of 28 days. For those who prefer more data benefits, the Rs 149 plan offers up to 1.5GB data per day for a period of 28 days. Do note that all Jio plans offer unlimited local, STD and roaming calls along with 100 SMSes per day.
